She lives within you.
Not on a faraway trip.
Not as something to strive for.
She’s right here, right now—waiting to be tapped into.
She shows up when you reach for that dress that gives you a warm feeling inside, when you take a bite of homemade soup and instinctively say “mmm, yummm,” or when your body begins to move the moment your favorite song comes on.
Your Muse is not separate from you—she is you.
She’s the part that lights up when you start to romanticize your life, when your soul comes alive in the small, beautiful details.
For most of my life, I held the story that “I wasn’t creative.”
My sister was the artist—so she was the creative one. I assumed creativity belonged to the painters, dancers, poets, and designers.
But then one day it hit me:
I love to cook.
I love to style outfits.
I love to write.
I love to design and curate our home.
The truth is, we’re all artists of our own lives—and creativity shines through the everyday.
How we mother. How we prepare meals for our families. How we dress. How we express our love.
My most creative moments aren’t always when I’m “working.”
They often happen when I’m fully living:
Rocking Coco while singing a song I just made up.
Styling a corner of our living room.
Putting on a beautiful dress and perfume, even when I’m not leaving the house.
Creating a “something-from-nothing” meal.
Creativity is about expression and creating beauty in the simplest, most present moments.
As the seasons shift and I find more flow as a mama, I’ve been tuning into what turns me on in life.
That means doing more of what lights up my soul and feels good in my body.
Living a life that turns you on means noticing what brings you joy, sparks inspiration, and makes you feel alive—and leaning into that.
No pressure. Just more pleasure and presence.
Your Muse will let you know when she’s awake. You don’t have to get it perfect—she just wants to play, move, express, and experience life in the most turned-on way.
So ask yourself:
What’s lighting you up right now?
What textures, scents, colors, and sounds are calling you in?
Where does time disappear?
What’s asking to be expressed?
Here are a few of my favorite ways to connect with my inner Muse—simple, sensual, sacred.
Pick one, try them all, make them your own:
As a busy mama in winter, it was so easy to stay in cozies all day.
Now that Spring has arrived, I’m getting dressed with intention.
What feels good on my skin? What colors energize or ground me?
Let your outfit be your altar.
Let cooking be an act of devotion and creativity.
Light a candle. Play a playlist. Add herbs to spice things up.
Have fun with it. The love you infuse into the meal will be felt.
Take a 20-minute walk with no agenda—no music, no podcast.
Just you and your senses.
Notice what catches your eye. What slows you down.
My most creative moments often come after quiet time with Mother Earth.
Put on a song that speaks to your mood and let your body lead.
No choreography—just intuitive movement.
Let your Muse come alive through your body.
Maybe the most challenging for me (because I love structure), but oh-so-powerful.
Grab a journal and let your Muse speak through your pen. No editing. No judgment.
Let it pour. You might be surprised by what she has to say.
Wake up 30 minutes earlier. Make your bed. Sip lemon water.
Drink your tea slowly. Wash your face with presence.
Give yourself a little massage. Say a prayer.
How you start your day shapes everything that follows.
Let it feel special.
“If I let my inner Muse lead the way today, what would she say yes to?”
Or try this:
My Muse wears ___, moves like ___, creates ___, and whispers ___.
Let this be a playful practice—not something to get “right,” but something that feels more you than anything else.
Becoming your own Muse isn’t about doing more.
It’s about noticing more—how you feel, what turns you on, what lights you up.
Your life is the canvas.
The way you show up for your loved ones.
The way you care for your space, your people, and yourself.
That is the masterpiece.
So wear the lipstick.
Make the playlist.
Light the candle.
Write the words.
Let your Muse lead—she’s been waiting.
