Living on purpose. You may have heard this phrase before or maybe it’s new for you and so before we dive into today’s blog, I’d love to ask, what does this mean to you? Perhaps pull out your journal and note down what comes to mind.
Purpose for me is one of the most important parts of really living a rich, alive and fulfilling life. Without a connection to who we are, what we love, how we can be of service to others and what we want, it can be really challenging to embody Leadership in our lives.
Tony Robbins said, “The best leaders in the world have a distinct purpose in mind before they take action. Purpose makes us resilient and strong. Purpose is what sustains us when things get tough – and things will always get tough. When you want to develop effective leadership skills, turn toward a purpose that drives you. Your purpose is the juice that will drive you to keep going when you face obstacles and challenges that are so inevitable on any worthwhile journey. Your purpose is the North Star of Leadership.”
There is no one like you, you are unique in your own way, you have your own energetic makeup, and your passions and desires are natural to YOU and only you! One of the most important ways to connect to your purpose is to pay attention to what you love to do, what makes you happy and what you yearn to learn more about!
Your purpose is a life force for you to use for good and it’s so much deeper than just making money! What makes you feel alive? What ignites a fire within you? Where do you feel your passions activated? Purpose is what you stand for, your values and what you want your life to be about! Your purpose can hold you THROUGH life when things get challenging!
Here is a practice for you as you start discovering your soul’s purpose (From “Calling in the One” by Katherine Woodword Thomas):
Pull out your journal, light a candle, take some deep breaths in and out and freely write to the following questions…first thought, best thought, let your body lead you!
Now complete these sentences with as many answers as you can think of:
Fill in the blank:
I am here to bring _____ to the world
Allow whatever comes through to be your guide! Add more of the things that make you happy into your days, follow the things that bring you joy and you feel passionate about and see where it takes you, as it can lead you to some pretty special, magical places.
Come back to this practice whenever you are feeling stuck, lost, disconnected or lacking direction.
With love,
